Donna Blichasz received her Bachelor’s in Fine Arts from Moore College of Art and Design in Philadelphia. She then continued on to receive her Master’s degree in Art Education and Applied Behavior Analysis from Arcadia University.
Since finishing college, Donna has continued to create her artwork from her home in Philadelphia. She has also worked with another artist on creating collaborative paintings and drawings, recently exhibited at the Kimmel Center.
Donna draws inspiration from many things in her daily life- people, places, shapes, forms, objects she encounters, her own experiences and even simple lines arbitrarily placed on the canvas. In the beginning stages of a painting she often uses the technique of automatic drawing to help create line and shape that may be the beginning of something more. She then uses any and all of these references to manipulate and create her own abstracted worlds using mostly oil paint, watercolors and pastels as her medium.
